Ching-Ling Lim was born in Watford, England 1975. She resided there for about 6 years before migrating to Singapore. Now, having lived in Adelaide since 1987, she is proud to call Australia home.
Many of her friends who she has corresponded with over the years know that she has a variety of interests - the main one being fiction writing. She first started writing when she was about 15 where she joined a creative writing class in her third year of high school. There, she wrote a rather silly little piece called Emergency Number One set in country South Australia.
She has since written several other short pieces, many of each ended with the faith of Emergency Number One until she developed an interest in novel writing. One of her first novels was for children in their early teens. It was another one set in country South Australia called A Cousin Like Eve which can now be purchase online at lulu.com. After completing this, she began to write a second novel, intending on making it a series which was titled Bush Aussies with assistance from a friend who grew up in country South Australia. The second one was titled The Enemy Within. Unfortunately, she was distracted with another flood of new ideas and only wrote 4 chapters.
By this time, she had come up with a novelette called Soulmates. However, like The Enemy Within, she was distracted once more and developed a more exciting project which she is still very much involved in. This project was inspired by her viewing of science fiction television programs as well as police dramas. The project is known as StarPol with co-creator Belinda Darling and is currently being marketed as a TV series. StarPol is a futuristic police series set in 3108 that patrols the far corners of the universe. As well as StarPol, she is also writing a crime/mystery series called The Espial. In 2008, she graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Media Arts, majoring in Film and Television production. Having already written and worked as a script editor on several short films, she is currently working on an interactive web-series known as Resume Life.
Ching-Ling is also apt at sound design and editing, and has written several sound-based projects from scratch. Through her works, she aims to entertain and educate the community at large about social issues that are close to her heart. She runs a sound production company - Crafty Lion Productions - which specializes in audio and sound based projects.
